Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 April 2026
This page explains what cookies and similar browser storage ScoutFootyAI uses, and how you can control them. For the broader picture of how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores in your browser so it can remember you across page loads. "Similar storage" includes localStorage and sessionStorage, which the browser also persists but which don't travel with requests like cookies do.
What ScoutFootyAI uses
We keep cookie usage minimal. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not share cookie data with ad networks.
First-party storage (set by us)
| Name | Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| scoutfooty_preview | sessionStorage | Holds your free-preview plan so the results page can render it without a second round-trip | Tab lifetime |
| scoutfooty_team / scoutfooty_trades / scoutfooty_budget | sessionStorage | Preserves your team input so checkout can use the same data | Tab lifetime |
| sf_pb | first-party cookie | Remembers which pricing bucket (e.g. $49 or $39) you were assigned, so returning visitors see the same price | 1 year |
Third-party cookies (set by services we use)
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Stripe Checkout | Processes your payment securely. Sets its own session cookies on checkout.stripe.com; we never see them. |
| PostHog | Product analytics — page views, click events, funnel analysis. Runs in cookieless mode where possible. |
| Sentry | Error monitoring. Does not use cookies in our configuration. |
Your choices
- Disable cookies in your browser — Most browsers let you block cookies site-by-site. Blocking them may break checkout, since Stripe relies on them.
- Clear localStorage/sessionStorage — In your browser's developer tools → Application → Storage.
- Opt out of analytics — Email support@scoutfootyai.com.au and we'll suppress PostHog tracking for your session. (Server-side operational logs, which are not cookies, continue for abuse prevention.)
Do Not Track
We respect the browser's Do Not Track signal for analytics purposes. If your browser sends a DNT header, we will disable PostHog tracking for that session.
Changes
If we add or change cookie usage, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date. Material changes will be emailed to paying users.
